I was born in Luanco, a fishing village in Asturias, and grew up inside my family's seafood restaurant, right across from the harbor. Boats, tides, and the constant movement of catch arriving and being transformed made up the everyday landscape of my childhood. Part of that landscape was also the care of animals that would end up on the table: normalized slaughter, blood as an ordinary domestic fact. A display tank, ice, a holding tank, the weight of carried seawater.
I work mainly with sculpture and installation: I begin with an image or a fragment and let the process push the idea somewhere I hadn't foreseen. I isolate fragments cast from my own body.

Affect is usually assumed to tend toward warmth, relation, and cohesion. I am interested in the opposite: weight, residue, what leaks out unintentionally. Not darkness as dogma, but the honesty of what the body carries without displaying.
My work develops through the transformation and assemblage of materials and objects. Some arrive already charged: a zazen cushion, barrier tape, a chair stripped of its seat, shark teeth, a javelin, the inside of my ear, the tip of a finger. Before function or symbol, they operate as presence. I keep them without fully understanding why.
I think of these elements as cavities — external organs through which sensation can exist — where guilt, desire, disgust, or threat ferment. The works resist fixed readings and hold together through proximity, displacement, and material transformation over time.
